Privacy policy

January First 2009

At www.sebastian-williams.com we collect various information that is provided by our users when they register for access to any restricted area of this or associated websites. This is done to help streamline the content and services that are provided and to help us to improve the overall quality of the users' access experience. It also allows for updates and bulletins to be sent by e-mail directly to members from time to time. It is also to facilitate the anonymous use of some details about our users for the purpose of selling appropriate advertising space or other services on this and associated websites. This aspect, if used at any time, might mean showing an advertiser how many users we have on the network websites and demographic information; it does NOT mean that we will share any of the individual's details with anyone. Where we collect registration information from an individual, we will never share that individual's information with a third party, regardless of who they might be, without that user's explicit permission.

Our principles:

Sebastian Williams and his associate webmasters are absolutely committed to protecting your privacy. Our policy can be summarized in one sentence: WE WILL NOT SHARE ANY OF THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE TO US WITH ANYONE AT ALL without your prior consent.

We have also established the following principles:

1. We will continue to employ high-quality security and do our utmost to protect user privacy through the appropriate use of the latest security technology.

2. We will respect your email privacy. You will not receive unsolicited marketing mail from Sebastian or any of his associate webmasters, or from any third party that might become affiliated with us, without your specific authorisation. We will, however, e-mail you occasionally with updates and various information that might be deemed of particular interest to you, or with queries relating to your registration, your subscription, account or Forum & Bulletin Board postings; this might include reminders, warnings or copyright verification requests.

3. We always ensure that contractors we use in connection with the running of this and associated websites and services (including hosting providers)are subject to strict contractual privacy obligations. Wherein they are only able to process data on our behalf and in accordance with our privacy principles and instructions and not for any other independent purpose.

Should we elect to change our privacy policy we will post the changes here. Where the changes are significant, we may also choose to email all our registered users with the new details.

The minimum information we need to register a membership is a genuine email address, a genuine name and a country of residence; UK and US users will also need to provide a postcode/zipcode. Login name and password will be provided on acceptance of the registration. Further information will be required from those who order value added products or services and this is to be provided on the relevant forms. Unless otherwise stated, all registration questions marked with an '*' are compulsory. Those not so marked are voluntary questions and the information provided there is purely to help us gain a clearer understanding of our users' needs. They also enable us to personalise services for our users. None of this information will be shared with any third party without first obtaining your explicit authority to do so.

Any data processors with access to your data in providing services on our behalf are subject to contractual restrictions to ensure that your data is protected, and not used independently by such third party in any respect whatsoever.
