Let's Work Together For self publishing authors with a dream of having their work recognised as outstanding enough to enjoy respectable sales levels in a global market where 500,000 new works enter the field each year, every bit of exposure that can be gained is crucial to eventual success. Joining forces and assisting one another therefore makes a lot of sense. Do The Numbers If you have a book that deserves to be read by a wider audience, list it here at no cost other than a reciprocal banner and text link on your own website. Do the numbers: If 1,000 authors average 1,000 visitors each to their websites per month, that's a total of 1,000,000 visitors. Stand alone and you have just 1,000 exposures, join forces with that 1,000 authors and you have that 1,000,000 potential exposures to share. It's an extremely competitive market out there and every single one of those exposures counts if you want to come out on top. Also by linking together we will be in a position to negotiate better deals with online marketing and promotion organisations. As the membership develops it will be a simple matter for each member to add a LATEST RELEASES page where they and other members can list their newly published work in a prominent position. Perhaps it will even be possible in time to have a complete updated website with everything already in place that members can simply download each month to replace the outdated one; All that would be required then would be an extension to the existing mother site, with very little interference to it but allowing for a lot more search engine crawler links that would automatically draw additional traffic that would not have been enjoyed otherwise. There are lots of possibilities and lots of potential benefits of establishing an organised joint effort, but one of the most alluring is that we all get this additional and ever increasing exposure at NO COST. To add to that, if an arrangement can be made with the marketing divisions of certain well established POD publishers to take referrals from members on a commission basis, then every member will in fact become part of a perpetually expanding silent sales team and will earn supplementary income for their involvement. Meaning that you get your royalties on the increased sales of your own books that are listed on other members' websites - sales that probably wouldn't have been made otherwise - plus you get a commission on the sales of other members' books that originate via your website listings. No additional work involved and no responsibility in respect to processing the orders. The POD publisher also enjoys higher returns at no additional cost because they are taking advantage of the perpetually expanding exposure (eventually hundreds/thousands of websites) and the promotional activities of that expanding silent sales force that they would not have enjoyed otherwise. It's a WIN WIN situation for all concerned. I am more than happy to have this website act as a hub and to establish a mechanism (perhaps with some input and assistance from capable members and the participating POD publishers) where every new member is securely introduced to established members and so that the link exchanges can be made and verified. *** You don't have a Banner and don't have any idea how to create one? *** To begin though and until membership is at a point where it is a feasible option to become more sophisticated, it will be necessary to do it the slow way. Choose one that suits you best and place it on your own website in a prominent position, in return I will list your book banner, text links and blurb in my Bookstore, as well as in my Author List and text link pages. You will also get a free membership to my secure forum where discussions and ideas can be exchanged and tossed around. Here we can all work together to gradually increase the exposure to our respective works and to take advantage of each others' promotional activities. Done with commitment and care exposure must automatically increase.
